Reconciliation Manager

Position: Reconciliation Manager Location: Kochi, Kerala, India Department: Finance & Operations Reports To: Chief Operating Officer Role Summary The Reconciliation Manager will be responsible for leading and managing end-to-end reconciliation operations across banking partners, payment gateways, digital wallets, remittance transactions, settlement accounts, vendor accounts, safeguarding accounts, and internal ledgers. The role requires strong fintech and payments domain expertise to ensure financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, timely exception resolution, and robust financial controls in a high-volume transaction environment. Key Responsibilities Reconciliation Operations • Manage daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of: o Bank Accounts o Payment Gateway Accounts o Digital Wallets and E-Wallet Platforms o Remittance and Cross-Border Transactions o Settlement and Safeguarding Accounts o Merchant and Agent Settlements o Vendor Reconciliations • Ensure all reconciliations are completed within agreed SLAs. • Monitor and resolve unreconciled items, aged breaks, and settlement variances. • Perform transaction matching across multiple systems and payment rails. Wallet & Payment Reconciliation • Oversee reconciliation of customer wallets, and digital payment products. • Reconcile wallet balances with core transaction systems and banking partners. • Monitor failed, pending, reversed, and chargeback transactions. • Ensure accurate reconciliation of payment gateway settlements and payout cycles. Exception Management • Investigate reconciliation breaks, mismatches, failed transactions, chargebacks, refunds, and settlement discrepancies. • Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions. Financial Control & Compliance • Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements and regulatory guidelines. • Maintain audit-ready reconciliation documentation and supporting evidence. • Support internal audits, external audits, and regulatory inspections. Required Qualifications • Bachelor's / Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related field. • CA / CMA / ACCA / CPA / MBA Finance preferred. • 6–10+ years of experience in Reconciliation, Finance Operations, Payments Operations, or Financial Control functions. • Minimum 3+ years of experience in a Fintech, Payments, Remittance, Digital Wallet, Money Transfer, Banking organization. • Experience handling high-volume transaction environments
