Role Overview The Design Co‑ordinator plays a pivotal leadership role within Studio Andem, acting as the bridge between design intent and execution. This role requires a strong design sensibility, the ability to guide and mentor the design team, and close coordination with the operations team to ensure projects progress seamlessly from concept to delivery. The ideal candidate is an aspirational designer—curious, confident, and unafraid to experiment—who is deeply invested in both design excellence and team culture. Key Responsibilities Design Leadership & Team Management Lead, mentor, and inspire the design team across multiple projects. Set clear design directions and ensure alignment with Studio Andem’s design philosophy and visual language. Review design outputs including concepts, drawings, presentations, and 3D visuals to maintain quality and consistency. Foster a collaborative, high-performance design environment. Design Direction & Knowledge Building Introduce, define, and actively teach the team the specific design style and approach followed by Studio Andem. Encourage design research, material exploration, and precedent studies as part of the design process. Stay updated with global design trends, materials, technologies, and methodologies, and translate relevant insights into practice. Be willing to experiment, question conventions, and push creative boundaries responsibly. Cross‑Functional Coordination Work closely with the operations team to align design intent with timelines, budgets, and execution realities. Coordinate between design, site, consultants, and management to ensure smooth information flow. Participate in internal reviews, design discussions, and project planning meetings. Project Oversight Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to design vision, quality standards, and deadlines. Assist in resolving design-related challenges during execution stages. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or Design: B.Arch / M.Arch B.Des / M.Des Or equivalent industry experience in a similar design leadership or co‑ordination role. Required Competencies Strong design thinking and conceptual development skills. Excellent visual sensibility and understanding of spatial design. Proven ability to lead and mentor a design team. Strong communication and coordination skills. Ability to balance creativity with practicality and execution constraints. High level of initiative, curiosity, and willingness to learn. Organised, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple priorities. Work Location & Mobility Base office location: Kochi, Kerala.
