Role Overview The Senior Draftsman is a critical technical role within Studio Andem, responsible for producing, coordinating, and standardising high-quality architectural and interior drawings across projects. With significant industry experience, this role requires deep technical knowledge, strong detailing skills, and the ability to rapidly adapt to Studio Andem’s design language while establishing clear drawing standards, systems, and best practices within the studio. Key Responsibilities Architectural & Interior Drafting Prepare detailed architectural and interior working drawings across all project stages. Develop plans, sections, elevations, details, and schedules with high technical accuracy. Ensure drawings clearly communicate design intent, dimensions, materials, and finishes. MEP Coordination & Technical Integration Coordinate architectural and interior drawings with MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) requirements. Identify and resolve clashes between architectural, interior, and MEP drawings. Incorporate consultant inputs accurately into drawing sets. Drawing Standards & Quality Control Rapidly adapt to Studio Andem’s design philosophy and project workflows. Establish, refine, and maintain internal drawing standards, layer systems, templates, and naming conventions. Ensure consistency, clarity, and completeness across all drawing deliverables. Review drawings for accuracy, constructability, and coordination before issue. Coordination & Support Work closely with architects, designers, site supervisors, and operations teams. Support the design team with technical detailing and drawing clarifications. Assist in resolving drawing-related queries from site and contractors. Time & Delivery Management Deliver drawings in line with project timelines and internal schedules. Manage multiple drawing packages simultaneously without compromising quality. Proactively flag technical challenges, missing inputs, or coordination risks. Required Qualifications Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or equivalent. Minimum 10+ years of professional experience as a draftsman in architectural and/or interior design practices. Required Competencies Strong expertise in architectural and interior detailing. Thorough understanding of construction methods and execution practices. Well-versed in MEP coordination and integration. Excellent proficiency in drafting tools (AutoCAD mandatory; others as applicable). Strong attention to detail and drawing accuracy. Ability to create and enforce structured drawing systems. Good coordination and communication skills. Work Location & Mobility Base office location: Kochi, Kerala. Must be willing to work from or travel to project locations as required.
