Job Description: Project Engineer – Interior Fit-Out
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Project Engineer – Interior Fit-Out to manage and execute interior projects from concept to completion. The candidate will be responsible for site execution, coordination with stakeholders, and ensuring timely delivery with high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Project Execution
• Manage day-to-day site activities for interior fit-out projects (residential/commercial)
• Ensure execution as per drawings, specifications, and approved designs
• Coordinate with site supervisors, subcontractors, and vendors
Planning & Coordination
• Assist in project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
• Coordinate with architects, interior designers, MEP consultants, and clients
• Ensure proper sequencing of activities (civil, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, finishing works)
Quantity & Material Management
• Prepare quantity take-offs and material requisitions
• Monitor material usage and minimize wastage
• Coordinate procurement and ensure timely availability of materials
Quality Control
• Ensure all work meets quality standards and design specifications
• Conduct site inspections and maintain QA/QC checklists
• Rectify defects and ensure proper finishing standards
E. Billing & Documentation
• Prepare and verify subcontractor bills
• Assist in client billing and BOQ tracking
• Maintain daily progress reports and site documentation
Time & Cost Control
• Track project progress against schedule
• Identify delays and take corrective actions
• Support cost control and variation tracking
Health & Safety
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and site protocols
• Conduct basic safety checks and toolbox talks
Required Experience
• Minimum 3–6 years of experience in interior fit-out projects
• Proven experience in executing residential, office, retail, or commercial interiors
• Hands-on experience in:
o False ceiling works (gypsum, grid, etc.)
o Modular furniture and carpentry
o Flooring (tiles, wooden, vinyl, etc.)
o Painting and finishing works
o Basic MEP coordination
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering or Interior Engineering
• Additional certifications in project management (preferred but not mandatory)
Skills Required
• Strong site execution and coordination skills
• Ability to read and interpret drawings (AutoCAD knowledge preferred)
• Good communication and team coordination
• Problem-solving attitude and attention to detail
• Basic knowledge of MS Excel and project tracking
Reporting Structure
• Reports to: Project Manager
• Coordinates with: Designers, Consultants, Site Team, Vendors
Key Performance Indicators
• Timely completion of assigned tasks
• Quality of finishing and minimal rework
• Adherence to budget and material control
• Effective coordination with stakeholders
• Site safety compliance
